Arizona upends Oregon for Pac-12 Women's title

The Wildcats posted the lowest one-day team total of the tournament in the final round to win their eighth Pac-12 title

BOULDER, Colo. — On a cloudy, overcast day at Boulder Country Club, the Arizona women's golf team posted the lowest one-day team total of the tournament — five-under 279 — to win the Pac-12 Women's Championship by five over Oregon. Oregon and UCLA shared the 36-hole lead, while Arizona was just a stroke back. Though the Wildcats were led over the course of the entire tournament by junior Lindsey Weaver, on Wednesday the story was sophomore Wanasa Zhou of Australia. Her bogey-free 65 was the lowest round of the entire tournament and pushed the Wildcats to their first Pac-12 title since 2010. Zhou opened with a 77 on Monday, but rebounded nicely with 72 on Tuesday followed by the stellar six-under 65. Her teammate Weaver finished two strokes out of winning the individual title, but settled for second at five-under 208, including a 69 on Wednesday. The individual crown went to Caroline Inglis of Oregon. She bookended a one-over par round of 72 on Tuesday with two 67s in the first and final round. Her Ducks took second place by three shots over Washington. Second-round co-leaders finished in fourth place after shooting five-over on Wednesday. The team still received top-five performances from their two best players — Bronte Law of England and Erynne Lee of Washington. Law tied for second place with Weaver while Lee tied for fifth.
