SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (April 22, 2013) -- Chris Petefish prevailed over Cory Bacon in a sudden-death playoff to win the 2013 Arizona Stroke Play Championship at TPC Scottsdale's Champions course.
The Georgia Tech-bound Petefish and Bacon finished the four-day event at 2-over, forcing the sudden-death playoff to decide it. In the final round, Petefish blew a three-shot lead on teh final hole before bouncing back to win the playoff.
Both players matched each other on Nos. 10 and 9 before the playoff went back to the 10th tee. Bacon hit his approach into a greenside bunker and it proved to be the difference maker as the 17-year-old Petefish capitalized.
Tyler Kerton fired a final-round 3-under 67 to jump back into contention and finished alone in third place at 3-over for the tournament. Koan Woon Rim and Peter kyo won Koo, who started the final round tied for second place, matched each other for the event at 6-over.
Air Force Major Andy Aduddell, the 2012 Arizona Golf Association Player of the Year, tied for seventh at 7 over following a 74.
