TEMPE, Ariz. (Jan. 1, 2008) -- Kristen Park of Buena Park, Calif., fired an even-par 72 at the final round of the 38th annual Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship to hold on to a one-stroke victory. The 16-year-old finished at 4-under 212 (69-71-72), a stroke better than Katrina Hegge.
It was another major victory for Park, who at 14 became the fourth-youngest winner at the U.S. Girls' Junior in 2007 when she defeated Ayaka Kaneko 4 & 3.
Park, who has shown interest in attending USC when she graduates in 2010, is finished the season as the AJGA's No. 2 ranked junior in the country.
In the 19-23 division, Jane Chin was tops at 214, while Hegge won the 17-18 flight, Park took the 15-16 and Esther Lee, Lauren Kim and Lauren Salazar tied for the 13-14 title at 227.
