Chang Gi Lee rallied on the final day to win the Men's title while in the Women's race Grace Kim ran away with the title

SEVEN MILE BEACH, Australia (November 26, 2017) - 21-year-old Chang Gi Lee from Korea has come from behind to win the 2017 Men’s Tasmanian Open at Royal Hobart Golf Club.

The newly crowned men’s amateur champion completed the double when he carded a final round of four-under 68 to join Jordan Garner at six-under-par.

Garner, the joint overnight leader from New South Wales, returning an even-par final round of 72.

The pair progressed to a sudden-death play-off with Lee defeating Garner on the fourth hole with a par.

Billy Cawthorne from South Australia dropped from joint overnight leader to place outright third on five-under-par following a final round 73.

Launceston Golf Club’s Mitch Van Noord was the leading Tasmanian on four-under-par.

WOMEN'S DIVISION

16-year-old Grace Kim from the Avondale Golf Club in New South Wales has won the 2017 Women’s Tasmanian Open at Royal Hobart Golf Club.

The women’s amateur champion carded rounds of 66, 69, 67 and 71 to finish 19-under-par and a massive eleven strokes in front of her nearest rival.

Isabelle Taylor of Queensland, a 17-year-old member of Sanctuary Cove, placed second after carding rounds of 67, 74, 73 and 70 for her eight-under-par total of 284.

Western Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley placed third on five-under after carding rounds of 74, 69, 70 and 74.

Tasmania Golf Club’s Georgia Milbourne was the leading local on even-par with scores of 79, 71, 71 and 71.
