Alameda Commuters: De Los Reyes surges

Jonathan De Los Reyes shot a 2nd-round 67 and leads the field at one of Northern Cal's top events

ALAMEDA, Calif. (April 27, 2014) -- Jonathan De Los Reyes fired a 4-under 67 at the Jack Clark Course at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex Sunday to take a four-shot lead at the 2014 Alameda Commuters. Closing the competition's first weekend in style, the St. Mary's golfer followed his first-round 68 with a red-hot 67 and sits at 7-under through two rounds. De Los Reyes will be the leader when the top 50 players within the massive 250-player field take aim at the final 36 holes of the prestigious Bay Area championship. Shintaro Ban, who last month won the San Francisco City Championship, sits tied for second place alongside Adam Stone and Matt Williams. Ban carded a 3-under 68 Sunday on the Earl Fry Course to jump towards the top of the leaderboard. First-round leader David Na couldn't duplicate his first-round 67 and shot 74. He's among three players tied for fifth place entering next weekend's action. Play will continue Saturday in the Open Championship. The Senior Division will also begin their 36-hole event on Saturday. For a full list of scores from the 2014 Alameda Commuters, use the results link below.
