AGC Two Man Links: Final Round Set for Monday

16th annual AmateurGolf.com travel event concludes at Bandon Dunes on Monday.

BANDON, Oregon (April 16, 2017) -- The conditions prior to AmateurGolf.com's arrival at Bandon Dunes included rain and wind gusts over 30 mph. It's been a wet Spring. But things warmed up during the first two rounds of the AmateurGolf.com Two Man Links Championship, now in its 16th year. Teams battled it out at on Bandon Trails in on Saturday and Pacific Dunes on Sunday. With just one round remaining at the original Bandon Dunes course, the team of Carlsbad, California high school golf teammates -- Kyle Rector and Andrew Sherman -- hold the championship lead by a single shot (68-70=138) The Oakland, California team of Dave Cannon and Bob Burnett lead the Senior Championship division at 139 (71-68). The father son Mazzola duo (Charles and Mason) had a spectacular second round at Pacific Dunes with a blistering 63, putting them at 133, just one shot ahead of the Palos Verdes, California team of Stephen Balzano and Jeff Delarme. But there are multiple teams within striking distance in all divisions. After the round Mason Mazzola said "it was the best round I have ever seen my dad play." Indeed the Mazzola team would have been competitive in any of the gross divisions, as their best-ball gross was 1-under par. Tomorrow's final round will be contested at Bandon Dunes.
