EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (June 3, 2014) -- Kyle Hoffman and Ryan Pelletier shot 7-under 63 to take the lead after Round 1 at the 65th Rhode Island Four-Ball Championship at Metacomet Country Club.

Hoffman and Pelletier were perfect on the day, using seven birdies, including three on their last four holes, to catapult to a three-shot lead.

The teams of Andrew and Arthur Fiorenzano and Charlie Blanchard and Jamie Griffiths, George Pine and George Cidade, Daniel Boutelle and Cody Wims and Brad Valois and David Marino all shot 4-under 66 and share second place heading into Wednesday's second and final round at Warwick Country Club.

"We kept grinding,’’ Hoffman told the Rhode Island Golf Association. "We wanted to get as many as we could.’ "We played off each other well," he added. "When one person sat down, the other made a birdie.’’
