Green won by three shots at 11-under to help propel South Florida to the team win
The University of South Florida women’s golf team, ranked 42nd nationally, shot 16-under 848 with rounds of 282-289-277, securing the team championship at the Mountain View Collegiate held at The Preserve at Saddlebrook in Mountain View, Ariz.
South Florida won by four shots to earn its third title of the season, following the Badger Invitational and FAU Paradise Invitational.
Texas A&M shot rounds of 289-282-281, finishing as the runner-up at 12-under par, followed by Houston with rounds of 286-286-288 for a solo third-place finish at 4-under par.
In the individual competition, South Florida senior Melanie Green carded rounds of 67-72-66 to register her second win of the season at a total score of 11-under 205. Arkansas freshman Maria José Marin carded rounds of 72-66-70 to finish three strokes behind at 8-under par for a runner-up finish in the tournament.
Green is the sixth player in program history with two or more wins in a season and the first since Natalia Villavicencio in 2018-19. Christina Miller in 2011-12 won three times, the program record.
The win is the second for Green in 2023-24. She was named the AAC Women's Golfer of the Week twice in the Spring and was the AAC Women's Golfer of the Month in both September and October. Green posted her first solo victory at the FAU Paradise Invitational earlier this season.

Her previous first-place finish was a shared title at the Trinity Forest Invitational in 2022. Green has shot par or better in 23 of 24 chances this season.
Green is one of the top amateur golfers in the country and currently ranks 36th in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women’s Rankings.
In terms of stats, South Florida dominated the field in par 5, scoring with an average of 4.80, and they also recorded a total of 50 birdies to lead in the Birdies Stat category. Green, the individual title winner from USF, claimed the top spot on par 5, scoring an average of 4.50, and stood second on par 4, scoring an average of 3.83.
