Ford defeated Max Herendeen of Illinois on the first playoff hole with a birdie to get his fourth win of the season
David Ford just keeps winning.
The North Carolina star won twice in the fall and now has back-to-back wins after securing victory at the 2025 Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
Ford finished 12-under with rounds of 69-66-69 to force a playoff with Max Herendeen of Illinois. In the playoff, Ford birdied the first hole to end the tournament.
He is currently ranked No. 8 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings. Last week, he won the 2025 Valspar Collegiate.

With this win, Ford has earned two PGA Tour exemptions due to his recent play, one for the 2026 Valspar Invitational and the other for the 2025 3M Open.
Also, according to Back of the Range, every player and coach in the field this year at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational will be heading to the Masters on Monday with a practice round ticket.
Herendeen finished in solo second place at 12-under, and Preston Stout finished in solo third place at 11-under. Jacob Modleski of Notre Dame finished in solo fourth place at 9-under, and Zach Pollo of Arizona finished in solo fifth place at 7-under.
Oklahoma State and Texas finished tied for the team title at 20-under, and Illinois finished in solo third place at 15-under.
Some of the best golf teams in the country have competed in the event's history, featuring several touring pros such as Davis Love III, Phil Mickelson (1989), Brad Faxon, Justin Leonard (1992), Vaughn Taylor (1998), Oliver Wilson (2001, 2003), Chris Kirk (2005), Scott Brown (2006), Dustin Johnson (2007), Henrik Norlander (2010), Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, and Beau Hossler (2016).
