The 2025 Latin America Amateur champion helped lead San Diego State to the individual and team sweep
2025 continues to be a year of winning for San Diego State's Justin Hastings.
After winning the Latin America Amateur and punching his ticket to Augusta for the Masters Tournament, Hastings shot 16-under to win the San Diego Lamkin Invitational at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
Hastings carded consistent rounds of 68-66-66 to pull away from the field. He is currently ranked No. 15 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.
He also recently finished in the top 15 after carding rounds of 69-67-65-70 to finish 13-under and T13 at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld.
Hastings shot a final round 1-under 70 to stay in the top 15 after coming into the day T9. He recorded four birdies and three bogeys, with birdies on holes No. 14, 15, and 18 to finish strong.

Harry Takis of San Diego State and Simon Kwon of BYU finished T2 at 12-under, and Jacob Modleski and Ian Maspat of San Diego finished T4 at 10-under to round out the top five.
In the team competition, San Diego State was incredibly impressive, carding team rounds of 277-276-268 to finish 43-under and winning by 16 shots.
According to San Diego State Athletics, it was the first regular-season team title for the three-time defending Mountain West champions since winning the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in April 2023 and San Diego State’s first Lamkin Invitational win since 2013.
The Aztecs were one shot short of tying Oklahoma State’s Lamkin Invite-record score of 44-under par, set in 2018.
San Diego and Colorado finished T2 at 27-under, and BYU finished in solo fourth place at 18-under.
