Both semifinal matches needed extra holes to determine a winner, making for a thrilling final

It's a full Florida Gator final at the 122nd Western Amateur at Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.

Ian Gilligan defeated his Florida teammate Parker Bell in 19 holes in the first semifinal, while Jack Turner defeated Henry Guan in 19 holes to set up the all-Florida final.

Gilligan is ranked No. 18 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.

Florida has already had a successful year in the WGA championships, with incoming freshman Parker Sands claiming the Western Junior at Ruth Lake Country Club in Illinois in June. Turner, Gilligan, or Bell could become the first Gator to win the Western Amateur since Bubba Dickerson's win at Point O' Woods Golf and Country Club in 2001.

Coverage will begin at 1 p.m. ET for the entire final match. ESPN+ subscribers in the United States, Canada (TSN+), the Caribbean, and Latin America (on Disney+) can tune in on the ESPN App, ESPN.com, and connected TV devices.

First played at Glen View Club in 1899, the Western Amateur is the world’s third-oldest amateur championship, behind only the British Amateur (1885) and the U.S. Amateur (1895). It regularly attracts the top players from across the country and around the world.

The Western Amateur is one of the most demanding golf events due to its grueling combination of stroke play and match play. The field of 156 players competes in 72 holes of stroke play over three days to determine the Sweet 16 for match play.
