The Northeast Amateur Invitational is back from June 19 to June 22 at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, RI, the second event in the 2024 Elite Amateur Golf Series. Last year, Nick Dunlap chased down Caleb Surratt for the win. Since then, both players have turned pro, with Dunlap winning the American Express and joining the PGA Tour and Surratt joining Jon Rahm's team on LIV Golf.

The Northeast Amateur has a historic list of winners, including Ben Crenshaw, Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, Luke Donald, Scott Hoch, John Cook, Hal Sutton, and David Duval. It has been held annually at the Donald Ross-designed Wannamoisett Country Club since 1962.

The event is limited to 90 elite players; there is a cut after 54 holes, and the entire tournament is played in twosomes.

Wannamoisett Country Club is a 1914 Donald Ross design known as one of the finest in New England. Thick, rough lines are narrow fairways, while the large greens are undulating and hard to read.

"Golf Digest" rated this course 47th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for the years 1995-96 and 52nd in 1997-98. The same publication also rated it as the "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998.
