Ron Carpenter leads Carolinas Senior Amateur
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Sept. 20, 2012) -- Sixty Nine players made the cut and advanced to the final round of the Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Leading the field is the first round leader Ron Carpenter of Creedmoor, NC. His two under 70 increased his lead over the field to three shots over Rick Cloninger of Fort Mill, SC.
Making the biggest jump is James Pearson of Charlotte and his tournament low round of 67 vaulted him into a tie for 4th. Jim Grainger, also of Charlotte, fired a three under 69 to move into contention for the trophy. Grainger has contended in every tournament since becoming eligible for senior golf last year.
Defending champion, John Dennis improved to 75 but remains far back in the field tied for 50th.

Index® at a CGA member club that does not
exceed 9.9.
