DALLAS, TX (January 2, 2006)--The Texas Golf Association has announced its 2006 Championship Schedule. The TGA will again conduct eleven (11) State Championships and seven (7) Regional Championships during 2006, beginning in late February with the North and South Regional Four-Ball Championships and concluding in late fall with the Texas Shoot Out matches.

In conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the TGA, the Texas State Amateur will be held at Dallas Country Club, which was the site of the first championship in 1906.

Once again, the TGA has secured an impressive selection of host sites for its championships. Champions Golf Club in Houston will welcome the Texas State Mid-Amateur, September 15-17. The recently-renovated San Antonio Country Club will host the Texas Senior Amateur, August 18-20, while Pecan Valley Golf Club in San Antonio will host the Texas Public Links Championship, June 22-25.

The Texas State Four-Ball, which had been held at Commanche Trace in Kerrville for several years, moves to the Kings Course at Gleneagles in Plano for the 2006 event, to be played May 19-21.

Other state championship sites include Beaumont Country Club (Father-Son), Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas (Mid-Am Match Play), Stonebriar Fazio in Frisco (Senior Four-Ball), and Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity (Texas Shoot Out).

There will be three regional championships in both the North and South regions of Texas (Salado, TX is the dividing line).

Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller will host the North Regional Four-Ball, Heritage Ranch Country Club in Heath will host the North Regional Amateur, and Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Rockwall will host the North Regional Mid-Amateur.

River Ridge Golf Club in Sealy hosts the South Regional Four-Ball, Walden on Lake Conroe Country Club hosts the South Regional Amateur, and Woodforest Country Club at Fish Creek hosts the South Regional Mid-Amateur.

The West Texas Amateur, which is open to both regions, will be held at The Rawls Course at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

TGA Championship events are open to members of TGA Member Clubs. For more information on TGA Championship events please contact the Texas Golf Association at 214-468-8942 or visit www.txga.org.
