Heart of America: Finals are set
RAYMORE, Mo. (Aug. 3, 2012) -- The final matches are now set in the 51st Heart of America Championship. After ninety holes of stroke and match play matches, Curtis Yonke and Ben Juffer will take on Josh Weems and Jackson Foth.
Yonke and Juffer are very familiar with each others games as teammates on the Kansas State University Golf Team. Weems and Foth enter the match after a hard fought battle over Korbin Kuehn and Park Ulrich that ended in extra holes Friday night.
The 36 hole final will begin tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m.
In the Senior division, the team of Mitch Bowen and Stewart Shockley will take on the team of Jim Seward and Dave Harris to claim this year’s title. Both teams come into the finals off significant victories in the semifinal matches Friday afternoon.
In the Masters division, the red hot Steve Groom and his partner Andy Smith will face a very talented team of Todd Downey and Dave Cunningham. Both teams faced tough matches in semifinal playing, winning 2 & 1 and 1-up respectively. The final match of the day will begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.

championship and 16 senior teams) advancing to
match play. Open to any male amateur golfer
with an active
USGA handicap index. Championship teams
combined index must be 10.0 or less. Senior
teams combined index must be 14.0 or less.
