Franklin's final round wins MET East Side Amateur
WOOD RIVER, Ill. (June 10, 2012) -- Jeremy Franklin started the day 3 shots back of the trio of leaders, but a 3-under 69 propelled him to a tie and clubhouse lead of 4-under. Waiting out the final groups, Franklin's lead held up and the victory was his.
The victory for Franklin is his first MAGA victory after being a top amateur in the area for the last few seasons, he is a past qualifier for the Match Play Championship and was Runner-Up in Metropolitan Amateur at Meadowbrook in 2010. This victory also gives Franklin a slim lead in the Player of the Year race.
