Sanchez, Alarid take Sun Country Senior Four-Ball
SOCORRO, New Mexico (April 22, 2012) -- The 2012 Senior Four Ball was perhaps the most perfect golf weather anyone could ask for. Temperatures hovered around the 90 degree mark both days with very little wind. The Senior Gross division champions of Lee Sanchez and Richard Alarid both of Santa Fe, NM who lead wire to wire to win the Gross Championship division by four shots over the team of Dr. Tom DeCoster and Nico Spence both of Albuquerque, NM.
The senior net division had 13 of the 14 teams fire rounds under par the first round. Much of the same took place the second round where 12 of the 14 teams shot rounds under par. Lead by the teams of Dennis Schramm of Rio Rancho, NM and his partner Keith Gottleib of Cubero, NM who tied the team of David Vanhorne and his partner Ben Jackson both of Alamogordo, NM. Both teams fired very impressive two-day totals of 132.
