Davison, Kriely and Glover lead at SCGA Amateur Net
City of Industry, Calif (April 9, 2012) --The 2012 Amateur Net Championship, which pits 180 competitors against one another in four flights, determined by Handicap, concluded its first round of action today at Industry Hills GC.Leading the Bobby Jones flight is William Davison of Coast Golfers of San Diego GC, who shot a 4-under par 67. He holds a two-stroke lead over Michael Molinari of Tijeras Creek GC entering Tuesday's final round of play. Carlos Hernandez of Knollwood Men's GC was the only other competitor in the flight to shoot under par, carding a 1-under par 70 to end the day three strokes off the lead.The Jack Nicklaus flight will surely remain competitive Tuesday, as four golfers are clearly in the hunt for the title after Monday's action. Joel Keily of Eagle Glen GC leads the way with a 1-under par 70, while Jimmy Tatum of San Diego, Steven Zaccagnini of Dove Canyon CC and Josh Joseph of San Clemente are all one stroke off the lead after completing their round at even par.Eighteen golfers managed to shoot under par in the Arnold Palmer flight, led by Broc Glover of Stadium GC who shot a 7-under par 65. Ray Diaz of Alta Vista CC and Darryl Gordon of River Ridge Men's GC sit just one stroke behind.The Ben Hogan flight saw 13 participants break par, with Jack Smith of Sante Fe Golf Association leading the way with a 6-under par 66.Participants will be back at Industry Hills tomorrow, and will switch courses for the final round of play. Round 2 pairings will be available shortly.
