Stockton over Ogden at Salinas City Amateur
Salinas, Calif. (March 25, 2012) -- Ricky Stockton defeated Matt Ogden in the finals of the Salinas City Amateur Match play event 2 and 1. It was a finals that almost didn't happen for Stockton as his semi-finals match against Will Cross went 6 extra holes to decide a winner.

"My semi match was grueling," said Stockton. "I already played a match earlier that day and had to go six extra holes."

In the finals Stockton went up against Ogden, a player whose game he knows well.

"My finals match today was fun," said Stockton. "I got to play the person I practice with. We know each others games well so we had to play mistake free. I just happen to make a few more putts."

Stockton currently works at the Preserve Golf Club in Carmel Valley and plans on playing 15 events this year with the possibility of turning pro in the summer
