North Coast Amateur at Bodega Harbour

BODEGA HARBOUR, CA (Oct 2, 2005) -- The 28th Annual North Coast Amateur Championship, held October 1st and 2nd at The Links at Bodega Harbour, resulted in John Ashlock of Stockton and the Forest Lake Golf Club winning the crown of North Coast Amateur Champion. Following his first round 73 with a 75, his 2 day total of 148 was good for a 3 stroke victory over Stockton Golf & Country Club's Tim Breland. There was a 3-way tie for third place between Greg Hutton of Metropolitan Golf Links, Bodega Harbour's Mark Gonnella and Andrew Biggadike of Palo Alto.

The new Senior North Coast Amateur Champion is San Rafael's Clifford Pearson playing out of the Marin Country Club. Pearson's 2 day total of 154 edged out Bodega Harbour's Ed Vail who finished with 156. Three time defending champion Dave Carroll of Silverado finished third with 161.

In the handicap flights Tom Isaak of CourseCo, whose 2 day net of 146 gave him a 5 stroke victory over Janet Allaway of the Walnut Creek Golf Club, is the regular handicap flight champion. Ed Cooper of Hiddenbrooke won the senior handicap flight with a 146 net, which was also good for a 5 stroke win over Lee Ford, a member of the Wasatch State Park Golf Club in Utah.

Bob Caldwell, PGA, Bodega Harbour's Director of Golf announced that the 29th Annual North Coast Amateur Championships will be held "on The Links" September 30 and October 1, 2006.

In the senior championship Carroll was followed by Dale Jensen of Napa Valley C.C. with 164 and Donel Geisen of Bayonet Black Horse with 165. In the regular handicap Janet Allaway was followed by Rory Janes of Oakhurst and David Imai of DeLaveaga, both with 153. Jim Grasty of Sierra View with 152 and Marte Bassi of the Olympic Club's 154 followed Lee Ford.
