CORONADO, CALIF. (Oct. 9, 2010) -- Cadiff-by-the-Sea resident Scott Stevens captured the Coronado City Championship today with a playoff victory on the first hole over Torrey Pines High School senior, Gunn Yang. Yang fired a first round 67 to lead by two after Saturday’s round and carded a 69 on Sunday to finish at (-8) 136. Stevens, who finished third last year, rallied with an eagle on the 18th hole to to back up a first round 69 with a 67 on the final round to pull even with Yang at 8-under-par.

In the playoff Yang bombed a 300-yard drive down the left side while Stevens' tee shot found the fairway bunker. Stevens' second shot was played to the middle of the green where he would two-putt for par. Yang also found the green but his birdie effort was bold and he would miss the par putt coming back, giving Stevens the victory.

Ryan Burgess finished in second place with rounds of 69-71--140 and Patrick Baxter was fourth with rounds of 71-72--143.
