Schorgl and Kaup win Senior Team title

LAKE QUIVIRA, KS (Sept. 29, 2011) -- Trailing by 3 shots going into the final round, Charlie Schorgl and Doug Kaup rallied in the final round and posted 5-under par 66 to edge Steve Groom and Bill McDonald by one stroke for the Senior Team Championship crown at Lake Quivira Country Club. Schorgl/Kaup finished the 54-hole championship at 18-under par 195.

In the Super Senior Division, Ron Brewer and Fred Rowland, both of Leawood, claimed the title finishing at 4-under par 209 for the championship.

In the Gross/Net Division, Jim Sanders/Eddie Shirron, both of Topeka and Bill Mosimann/John Selk tie for low gross in the Gross/Net Division at 4-over par 217 total. Congrats to Eddie Shirron on his hole in one today!

ABOUT THE Kansas Mid-Amateur & Senior Team

Team event with three divisions (Mid-Amateur, Senior, Super Senior). Gross & net scoring for all teams.

54 holes of team stroke play contested over two days. 36 holes on day one, 18 holes on day two. Different format each round. There is no cut.

Round One - Shamble
Round Two - Foursomes
Round Three - Four-Ball

Must be a member of the Kansas Golf Association.
