Lang Leads Mississippi Senior Amateur
MADISON, MS (Aug. 20, 2011) - John Lang of Jackson takes the lead in the Senior Amateur with a four under par 68 on Saturday. Lang’s three under par 141 is two strokes ahead of Ricky Sims and Mike Taylor at 143. Benny Bell is holding down 4th place at one over par 145. Rounding out the top five are Robert Pannell and Robert Willis at 146.

Ron Aldy leads the Super Senior Division at three under par 141, after a three under par 69 in the second round. George Hinman and Mike Pharr are tied in second place at one under par 143. Les Robinson’s 69 moved him into 4th place at two over par 146. Tied for fifth in the super senior division are Danny Hooker Don Waldrop.

Larry Wagster holds onto his lead heading into the final round at four over par 148. Bill Bartlett is in second place at 150 after a round of 77 on Saturday. David Chun is in third place at 156. The weather at Lake Caroline has been hot and humid this week. A special thanks to Kyle Sisk and the staff at Lake Caroline for hosting the Senior Amateur Championship.

ABOUT THE Mississippi Senior Amateur

Tournament is scheduled for 54 holes of stroke play; players will be flighted after 36 holes of play within their age division. Field size is limited to the first 104 players.

The Championship is open to male amateurs who are bona fide residents of the state of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round of the tournament.

Divisions:
- Seniors must have reached their 50th birthday prior to the first day of the championship.
- Super Seniors must have reached their 60th birthday prior to the first day of the championship.
- Grand Masters must have reached their 70th birthday prior to the first day of the championship.
