Eisenbeis, Penfield lead Metropolitan Amateur at St. Louis CC
ST. LOUIS, MO . (Aug 11, 2011) - On a perfect day for the 21st Amateur Championship, a St. Louis CC member is tied for the Round 1 lead. Jack Eisenbeis and Ryan Penfield each shot 2-under par 69 to lead the 21st Championship at St. Louis CC.
One shot back were a trio of golfers. Leading that trio was 2009 Champion Skip Berkmeyer, who posted his 70 in the morning wave. Buddy Allen and Craig Hardcastle, Jr. each fired rounds of 70 in the afternoon to join the group.
Matthew Rau is alone in 6th after an Even par 71.
Round 2 will be played tomorrow at St. Louis CC. Following Round 2 the low 40 players and ties will make the cut to play in the Final Round on Saturday and determine whose name will be added to the Jim Tom Blair Trophy (pictured at right).
