European Amateur: Trappel wins in playoff

HALMSTAD, Sweden (Aug. 6, 2011) -- It was an exciting finish to International European Amateur. Third round leader Manuel Trappel posted a final round 70 to finish atop the leaderboard tied with Englishman Steven Brown, who closed with an excellent 68. Both finished at 278, ten-under par. After a three-hole-playoff, it was Trappel who came out on top by just one stroke. He joins an illustrious list of past champions including Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia.
