North Carolina Senior Four-Ball: Carpenter, Brown victorious

HIGH POINT, NC (Aug. 4, 2011) -- Ron Carpenter of Creedmoor and Gary Brown of Charlotte held-off Ray Womack and Wayne Pyrtle of Burlington to win the North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship. Carpenter and Brown posted a final round 65 to win by three strokes with a 23-under par 193 score. Womack and Pyrtle closed within one shot of the lead after 15 holes. But a birdie by Carpenter on hole 16 and a birdie by Brown on hole 17 sealed the victory.

Open to any male golfer aged 55 and older, a legal resident of North Carolina, and an active index with the CGA. Format is 54 holes of four-ball stroke play with the field cut to the low 30 scores and ties after 36 holes.
