SCGA Senior Better Ball Champions
SANTEE, SC (September 11, 2005) -- Tommy Ford and Charles Swanson, both from Mt. Pleasant fired a two-day total of ten under par, 134 to win the SCGA Senior Better Ball Championship being contested at Santee Country Club.
Ford and Swanson shot 18-hole rounds of 65-69 to earn a slim one shot victory over three teams who tied at nine under, 135. Tommy Bell from Hilton Head and Joe Vignati of Bluffton; Bucky Grice (Columbia) and Vic Hannon (Camden); and Bob Collar (Hilton Head) and Dave Hambly (Blufton) all tied for second place.
The 2005 SCGA Senior Better Ball Championship was played on the newly renovated par 72 – 6,413 yard Santee Country Club Course in Santee, SC. The field consisted of 64 two man teams playing Four Ball Stroke Play. The Senior Better Ball Championship is one of 17 Major Championships conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association and is in its 12th year of existence.

The Senior Better Ball Championship is an
opportunity for good friends to get together and
enjoy a weekend of golf at one of the area's finest
facilities - Santee Cooper Golf Club. With a better
ball format and teams broken into flights after the
first round, competition is available at all levels of
ability.
A 10:00 AM shotgun start on both days also means
that participants won't be spending their entire day
on the golf course. Come join us in one of the
longest running Senior events in the SCGA
