Bell Wins Central Texas Amateur

ROUND ROCK, TEX. (July 24, 2011) -- First round leader Drew Bell fired a 74 on Sunday to win the 2011 Central Texas Amateur by three strokes with a two-day total of 72-74--146.

Gregg McGibney carded 75-74--149 to finish solo second.

Michael Carnes, John Parez, Andrew Carreon, and Paul Moore tied for third place at 150 for the two days.

ABOUT THE Central Texas Amateur

36 Hole Scratch Stroke Play tournament played at Forrest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock. The 72 lowest handicap players are placed in the Championship Flight (along with any others who wish to declare for Championship Flight.) All other players play in flights of 16 players or less according to handicap. Seniors (50+) that qualify for Championship Flight will also play a simultaneous Senior Division competition.
