Philadelphia (GAP) Senior Amateur Championship
2005 Senior Am., Senior Silver Cross winner
PHILADELPHIA, PA. (September 7, 2005) -–David Brookreson of Huntingdon Valley CC added two more jewels to his championship belt Wednesday when he won the Golf Association of Philadelphia's 35th Senior Amateur Championship and the Association's Senior Silver Cross at Torresdale-Frankford Country Club (par 70, 6,224 yards).
Brookreson, 57, the reigning Senior Player of the Year, carded a 1-under-par 69, the only under-par round of the tournament, to go with an opening-round 72 to win the Senior Amateur by five shots, after finishing in second place last year.
It was his first Senior Amateur Championship and his second straight Senior Silver Cross, both coming on the heels of his win Sept. 1 at the prestigious national North-South Senior Amateur at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in North Carolina.
