Hudson Junior Invitational: Historic event
HUDSON, Ohio (June 15, 2011) -- History was made at the 33rd Hudson Junior Invitational today as the champion of the boy's flight came from a player born outside the United States.
David Faraudo-Godinez of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico won his flight with a three round total of 219 (76-70-73), five strokes ahead of second place finishers. There was a four way tie for second at 224 between Andrew Bieber of Shaker Heights, OH with rounds of 79-74-71, Dominick Francks of Olympia, WA who shot 76-74-74, Rhyne Jones of Blowing Rock, NC with 75-80-69 and Rigel Fernandes of Mangalore, India who shot rounds of 76-72-76.
In the girl's division Jessica Porvasnik of Hinckley, OH ran away with it shooting 218 (69-73-76) and beat second place by a whopping 12 strokes. Second went to Yvonne Zheng of Bradenton, FL with 230 (77-77-76). Kensington Wieland of Loudon,TN with a 232 (73-79-80).

The Hudson Junior Invitational is a 54 hole
stroke
play competition. The field consists of top
ranking
junior boys and girls ages 15 through 18 years
old. Selections are based on previous
tournament
experience with emphasis based on national
tournament finishes. The field represents a fair
representation of boys and girls and a cross-
section of states and countries.
