Kentucky State Amateur Championship: Newcomb extends lead
LEXINGTON, KY (June 8, 2011) -- Patrick Newcomb didn't back down from the field or the golf course as he posted another sub-par round, a 3 under par 69, and will take his 137, a two shot lead, into tomorrow's final round of the 2011 Appalachian Wireless Kentucky State Amateur Championship. Trying to keep pace is Chris Morris at 139 and Dave Snyder is another 2 shots back at 141.
The field was cut to the final round at scores of 152 or better, a total of 71 players. Starting times begin at 8:30 a.m. EDT using both the first and tenth tee
ABOUT THE Kentucky Amateur
54-hole stroke play championship. Prizes will be
awarded in the
following categories: Section Medalist, Low Scorer in
each round, Low Junior, Low Senior, Low Public Links
contestant, runner-up and champion.
Entrants in all KGA tournaments shall be required to
have an active Handicap Index at a Kentucky Golf
Association Member Club at the time of entry and
meet the championship’s residency requirements.
