Florida wins SEC Championship
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Florida men's golf team captured the SEC Men’s Golf Championship held at the Sea Island Golf Club Seaside Course by scoring a final round 1-over par, 281. The Gators finished the championship with a three-day total of 8-over par, 848. This was Florida’s first SEC Men’s Golf Championship since 2003.
Alabama finished in second place with a three-day total of 14-over par, 854.
Florida’s Andres Echavarria and LSU’s John Peterson, both shot a three day total of 1-under-par, with Echavarria winning the individual championship in a sudden death playoff. Playing the 18th hole in the playoff, Peterson made a five, while Echavarria made four.
