Platinum Coast Invitational celebrates 50 years
ROCKLEDGE, Florida (Sept 12, 2010) -- Solid independent golf tournaments, held at layouts that have passed the test of time, are the backbone of competitive amateur golf.
One of those events, the Platinum Coast Invitational at Rockledge Country Club in Florida, celebrated it's 50th year anniversary today and Kevin Altenhoff of Melbourne made the trophy his in style, firing a tournament-low 65 on top of his first round 68 to defeat Zach Potter by 2 shots.

36 holes Stroke Play - Stiff competition with good
mix of Florida & college players played since 1961.
Past Champions include Hale & Beau Baugh and
Scott Gump. Played at traditional private country
club on tree lined course built in 1919 with small
greens. A good test.
