DUNCAN, BC, Canada (June 9, 2010) -- A few players started the day in the hunt, but Greg Koster of Courtenay, B.C. was able to hold on to his lead and claimed his first BC Men’s Mid-Amateur title after firing a final round even-par 70 for a final 3-under 207.

“I really prepared for this championship,” says Koster. “This was the tournament I wanted to win this year. I drove down here a few times to play the course and it paid off for me. My game came together at the right time.”

Defending champion, Ben Griffin of Victoria, B.C. finished in second at 1-under 209 followed by Craig Doell of Victoria, B.C. at 3-over 213 for third.

Sandy Harper of Nanaimo, B.C. played steady and carded a final round 1-over 71 to claim the Master 40 title at 4-over 214. Representing B.C. at the Mid-Amateur Inter-provincial Team Championship at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Quebec, August 16-20, 2010 will be Greg Koster, Ben Griffin, Sandy Harper and Steve Berry.
