Fairhaven, MA (January 28, 2010) - Success at the highest levels of competitive golf requires absolute trust in yourself and in your equipment. At the Bob Hope Classic, Titleist Brand Ambassador Bill Haas, demonstrated just how powerful that trust can be. Relying upon the Pro V1 golf ball and 14 Titleist golf clubs from tee-to-green, Haas realized a dream, winning for the first time on the PGA TOUR. With a birdie on the final hole, his well-earned, come-from-behind one-stroke victory comes 22 years after his father, fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Jay Haas, posted his own win at the same event.

Haas closed with an 8-under 64, the best final round of his PGA TOUR career, to finish the weather-delayed 90-hole event at 20-under 330. He becomes the third first-time winner of this event in four years at the Bob Hope Classic, each of whom trusted Titleist golf balls for their success, including fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Charley Hoffman (2007) and last year’s winner who relied upon the Pro V1x.

WHAT’S IN BILL HAAS’ BAG?: Pro V1, 909D2 driver (8.5), 909F3 fairway metal (13.0), New CB irons (2-P), Vokey Design Spin Milled C-C sand (54) and lob (60) wedges and Scotty Cameron Kombi putter.

STATS: Trusting Titleist equipment from tee through green, Haas led the field in Greens in Regulation, hitting 75 of 90 (83.3%). and was 14th in Driving Distance at 276.9 yards.

THE MOMENTUM CONTINUES …: for Titleist players on the 2010 PGA TOUR, as Haas’ victory makes it 3-for-3 for Titleist golf ball loyalists to start the season, including two full product line Brand Ambassadors. New Titleist Brand Ambassador Geoff Ogilvy started the year by defending his crown at the SBS Championship, while Pro V1 player Ryan Palmer captured the first full-field event at the Sony Open in Hawaii. In fact, Titleist irons have been the choice of all three winners as well.

#1 BALL, IRON, WEDGE and PUTTER: According to the Darrell Survey, Titleist was the overwhelming GOLF BALL of choice at the Bob Hope Classic with 81 players (63%), more than four times the nearest competitor with 18. Titleist was also first in IRON SETS with 35 players, compared to 23 players for the nearest competitor; SAND, LOB and APPROACH WEDGES with 100 players, nearly double the nearest competitor with 52; and PUTTERS with 48 players. Titleist was also second in the DRIVER category with 28 players.

CHAMPIONS: Tom Watson (Pro V1) birdied the last two holes at Hualalai to win the season-opening Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hawaii by one shot. Watson, who held the overnight lead, shot a final round 7-under 65 to finish at 22-under 194 en route to his 13th career Champions Tour title. Titleist was the top golf ball choice at the event with 25 players (69%), more than six times the nearest competitor with 4. Titleist was also first in IRON SETS, SAND, LOB and APPROACH WEDGES and PUTTERS in the 36-player field.

AUSTRALASIAN: Titleist full-line player Mitchell Brown (Pro V1x) won his first Australasian Tour event, capturing the New Zealand PGA Championship at Clearwater Golf Club in Christchurch. Brown finished at 7-under 281 in regulation play, equaling the score of Titleist Brand Ambassador and two-time winner Ashley Hall (Pro V1x). Brown prevailed in the playoff, parring the first extra hole. Eleven of the 13 players finishing inside the top 10 trusted a Titleist golf ball for their success. A total of 117 players (81%) in the field at this week's event made Titleist their ball of choice.
