JUPITER, FL (December 4, 2009)--The Jupiter team of Deron Zendt and Jared Meyers led the way Friday as a team of amateurs representing the Palm Beach County Golf Association won the 16th annual Sam Smidt Cup matches at the Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club at Old Trail.
Zendt and Meyers won all nine points in their match against Thad Fields of the Palm Beach Country Club and Chris Czaja of the Boca West Club.
PBCGA won by 33-21 over area club professionals from the Southeast Chapter of the South Florida PGA Section. The Southeast Chapter leads with eight wins to seven for the PBCGA and a halved match in 1996.
