FORT WORTH, Texas (November 10, 2008) — High-performance graphite shafts by UST (United Sports Technologies®) shined at Children’s Miracle Network Classic, held at Disney’s Magnolia and Palm Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. PGA Tour veteran Davis Love III played a UST Proforce V2 76 in his Titleist 909D3 driver and Proforce V2 86 shafts in Titleist fairway woods and shot a remarkable 25-under par (66-69-64-64) to secure a lifetime PGA TOUR exemption with his 20th win.

Love’s weekend scores (64-64-128) set the all-time best closing rounds following a cut in the tournament history. With the winner’s check of $828,000, Love has now earned $37,325,550 in his career and remains fifth on the career money list behind Jim Furyk, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh and Tiger Woods. Also, with this event, Love moved to No. 1 in career earnings with $1,955,950.34 at Disney, passing Woods ($1,542,166.67) and Singh ($1,525,303.57) according to PGA TOUR statistics.

“This is an incredible milestone for Davis and we express our most sincere congratulations on a great achievement,” says Jim McIntosh, PGA Tour representative for UST. “The Proforce V2 shafts masterfully balance low torque, weight, spin and launch angle and provide a stable and consistent performance that is specially optimized for today’s 400cc to 460cc clubheads. This particular design has had great success on Tour, and we are excited about the newest Proforce — the AXIVCore — which delivers an entirely new level of distance and accuracy.”

The Proforce AXIVCore is a true weave of four different modulus carbon fibers in four completely different directions, yet they are all in one ply of material. Unlike any graphite shaft in golf today, the innovative Proforce AXIVCore integrates the weave within the inner walls of the butt section which provides stability and consistent shaft recovery. This unique counter-balanced shaft also reduces club heft that helps players generate more clubhead speed which translates to more ball velocity and greater distance. The Proforce AXIVCore Series will feature Blue, Tour Black and Tour Red models, and will be available in multiple weights and flexes to fit various swing profiles.

High-performance UST graphite shafts are played by some of the world’s best players such as Love, Rod Pampling and many others.
