TUCSON, Ariz. (March 25, 2008)--The TCU men's golf program collected its second tournament crown of the 2007-08 campaign as the Horned Frogs held off a surging Kent State squad on Tuesday to claim the National Invitational Tournament title at the Omni Tucson National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

Three golfers tied for medalist honors at 8-under-par 208: Nicolas Geyger (Tulsa), Ben Moser (Houston), and David Markle (Kent State).

"Today was an all-round great performance," said TCU head men's golf coach Bill Montigel. "The guys hung in there and really put forth a strong performance. Franklin had a great tournament and finished two strokes off of the lead, and I'm really proud of the way that James and Jordan played. Today was a total team effort, and everybody stepped up and played extremely well."

The Frogs entered the final day of action with a nine-stroke advantage over the field at the National Invitational Tournament and recorded a team score of 289 en route to finishing the tournament with a 54-hole tally of 854 (275-290-289). The Golden Flashes were 12 strokes behind the Frogs at the beginning of the final 18 holes of action, but were unable to overcome the deficit after finishing the event with a score of 857 - including a score of 279 in the third round.

Woolf tied for a team-best 72 in the final 18 holes of action while Sacheck collected a 73 on his last day of competition.
