Smith wins Rain-Shortened Azalea Amateur

Charleston, South Carolina (March 27, 2005) -- The final round of the Azalea
Invitational wound up a victim of the severe weather that has plagued the Southeast (and played havoc with the Players Championship)and was cancelled on Sunday.
Duke University golfer Nathan Smith, (of Santa Cruz, California) who led high school student Erik
Flores of Grass Valley, California by 2 after rounds of 65-69-67 was declared the champion of the prestigious event. Flores finished runner-up, while Gus Sylvan and Steven Liebler finished tied for third.
