Washington Men's and Women's Club Team
ROSLYN, Wash. (May 31, 2007)-– The final round at the 2nd Annual Washington State Golf Association Member Club Team Championship brought another day of warm weather, new champions, and a back-to-back title, at the challenging and scenic Prospector Golf Course at Suncadia Golf Resort in Roslyn, Wash.
The men's division was dominated again by High Cedars Golf Club, located in Orting, Wash. They separated themselves from the rest of the field by thirteen strokes with an opening round of 194, followed by a second round 199. The High Cedars GC team consists of Ken Shersty, Brian Stowe, Ken Armstrong, and Dan Priem. The team from TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge in Snoqualmie finished in second place at 406.
In the women's division, Riverbend GC, located in Kent held strong, after trailing by one stroke in the first round, to win the Women’s Member Club Team Championship. The team consists of Mary Ryan, Ok Yun Lim, Susan Stahl, and Laura Risher. They carded an opening round of 214 and finished at 433, winning by one stroke over Meridian Valley CC, also located in Kent. First round leaders, Mill Creek CC, finished in the third spot.
The shot of the championship came from Linda Selegue of Meridian Valley CC, who had a hole-in-one today on #15, Par 3, 121 yards, on Wednesday, May 30.
The WSGA Member Club Team Championship is a 36-hole championship that includes a men's and women's Division. The men are playing the course at 6268 yards, par 72 and the Women are playing the course at 5429 yards, par 72. The format is as follows; each four-person team must be from the same WSGA Member Club and consist of either all Men or all Women. Each team is counting one gross score and two net scores per hole for the team total each day.
