Ernie Pieper Santa Cty: Jensen Birdies 18 to Win
SAN JOSE, California (June 3, 2007) -- Michael Jensen of Los Altos birdied the 18th hole at San Jose Country Club on Sunday afternoon, holing a 30 foot putt to put the pressure on leader Randy Haag. When Haag's 10 foot par putt missed, the title (which has thus far eluded Haag) went to Jensen, a rising Senior at Cal Berkeley. Steve Woods of Cupertino finished tied with Haag at 207.
Frank Pieper, son of the tournament's namesake, won the Senior Flight by three strokes after shooting a 72 on Sunday and finishing at 146.
