Follett-Smith has done exactly what every first-round leader hopes to do--he has added to his lead after every round. After a six-under 66 in round one, he led by one shot over three players. He was able to separate himself in the second round with a second straight 66 to take a four shot lead, and on Wednesday he put together a three-under 69 to get to 15 under par, seven shots ahead of the field.
Kansas State golfer Jacob Eklund shot the low round of the day, a six-under 66 that included two eagles, to move into a tie for second at 8 under with Mississippi State's Blake Maum. Maum shot a 69 on Wednesday.
Recent Tennessee-Chattanooga graduate Brooks Thomas shot a 66 to move into fourth at 6 under.
Mikey Feher (Lipscomb) and Nolan Ray (Tennessee) share fifth at 5 under par.
The final round will be played Thursday.
