Blake Vinson and David Klaudt win Olympia Fields Four-Ball
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Illinois (May 26, 2017) – After two rounds at the historic Olympia Fields Golf Club, Blake Vinson and David Klaudt emerged victorious in the Mid-Amateur division of the Olympia Fields Four-Ball.

After the first round, played at the North Course, Vinson and Klaudt were tied with Andrew Rhodes and Ryan Utnage at 4-under 66. Klaudt, who played collegiate golf at Kansas State and Vinson (who played at Texas Wesleyan) are both experienced amateur players. And when conditions turned cooler on Friday, they would need to draw on that experience, because the South Course played long and difficult.

Vinson and Klaudt shot 4-under 68 to claim the title at 8-under for the tournament. Finishing second was the team of Matt Mitchell and Ben Fisher, thanks to a 5-under 67 on Friday that put them at 6-under for the tournament.

SENIOR DIVISION

John Finnin and Dave Ryan claimed the Senior Division title after an impressive 5-under 67 on the South – matching the lowest score of the tournament. That round on top of a 2-over 72 was good enough to give the pair a two-stroke victory.

SUPER-SENIOR DIVISION

Michael Alsup and Ken Kee put on a spectacular performance on their way to claiming the Super-Senior Division Title. The pair from Tulsa, Oklahoma play together frequently. Alsup also competed collegiately at the University of Tulsa. Alsup and Kee shot a tournament low 64 on the North Course on their way to claiming a four-stroke victory.
