LOS ANGELES, CA (December 14, 2016) -- After making his much anticipated return early this month at the Hero World Challenge Tigers Woods' 2017 schedule is beginning to take shape. On Tuesday it was announced that Woods will be teeing it up in February's Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club, the site of his first appearance on the PGA Tour in 1992.

“This is where it all started for me. It was my first PGA Tour event. I was 16-years-old, I weighed about 105 pounds. It was a life-changing moment for me," Woods said in a video announcement on his TWFoundation YouTube page. This could be the first of many appearances for Woods in the coming years at Riviera as his foundation is the hosts the tournament.

Then, a wide eyed 16-year-old Woods missed the cut but it didn't stop the golfing world reveling in what the teenager might become.

"He is 16-years-old, you don't know know how much better he can get or if he's at the top right now, Sam Snead said at the 1992 event when asked about Woods. "You'll just have to wait and see. He looks like he's really going to be a force on the (PGA) Tour."

Of course as we know now Woods wasn't at the top just yet and two years later in 1994 he continued his remarkable amateur career with the first of his three consecutive U.S. Amateur victories. And I'm sure we don't have to tell you what he has accomplished since turning pro!
