Tasmanian Amateur: Paul Read earns match play top-seed

CAMBRIDGE, Tasmania (November 20, 2016) -- Paul Read shot an even-par 72 on Sunday at the Tasmanian Amateur hosted by the Tasmania Golf Club to earn the top-seed at the Tasmanian Amateur.
The match play portion of the event will begin on Sunday with the Round of 16 and quarterfinals.
Read finished 3-under-par overall thanks to his 3-under 69 on day one.
Sam Rawlings was the only other player in red figures and he will be the two-seed when match play begins.
Mark Schulze (E) finished third while Haydn Garner (+2) and Andrew Phillips (+2) shared fourth.

Paul Read is in the drivers seat after day one of stroke-play qualifying at the Tasmanian Amateur hosted by the Tasmania Golf Club.
Read, 3-under, is 18-holes away from medaling and earning the top-seed for match play beginning Monday. The match play field will be limited to the top-16 qualifiers.
Sam Rawlings, 1-under, is the only other player in red figures, Mark Schulze (E) is third, Haydn Garner (+2) and Andrew Phillips (+2) share fourth.
