PEBBLE BEACH, CA (Octoer 28, 2006) -- Cameron Park captured the 18th NCGA Team Match Championship, defeating Pasatiempo 22-14 at Poppy Hills. The club, located outside of Folsom, got off to a strong start when its first pairing - Jim Clark and Bill Schmidt - grabbed all six possible points in the format that has 12 singles matches played concurrently with six four-ball matches, with each match worth two points. After Pasatiempo's Bob Green and John Mandella duplicated this result in the second set of matches, the championship was all square. But the last four pairings produced 18 points for the victors to 8 for the runners-up, giving Cameron Park the title.

The championship is the first team match title for the club, and represents the eighth straight year the championship has been won by the club winning the Thursday Team Match Championship (Cameron Park defeated Chalk Mountain 22-14 to win the Thursday Team Match title and earn its way to the finals). Pasatiempo was playing in the finals for the first time via winning the Saturday Team Match Championship, upending Spring Creek 26-10.

Spring Creek beat Chalk Mountain 28-8 to earn third-place honors.
