Carolina Old N. State Open: Amateur Sherrill Britt is victorious

NEW LONDON, NC (July 12, 2016) -- Amateur Sherrill Britt finished 8-under and won the Carolina Old North State Open at Old North State Club. Britt put together rounds of 67-69 during the 36-hole event.

On Monday Britt came out of the gates firing with six birdies, four in the last six holes, and one bogey. In Tuesday's second round Britt again finished strong with three birdies in the final five holes. In all the West End, NC resident carded five birdies and two bogeys during the final round.

Ed Sabo was 4-under and in second. The next best amateur finish came from Gary Robinson who tied for sixth at 4-under.
