Quarterfinals Set at Georgia Women's Match Play Championship
CARROLLTON, Ga. --- The quarterfinals have been determined at the Georgia Women's Match Play Championship as eight players remain. The 19th playing of this competition is being played at Sunset Hills Country Club, June 1-4.
Top seed Elisa Yang of Norcross earned a pair of wins on Thursday over Solene Le Coz of Atlanta (3 and 1) in the round of 32 and Hannah Barger of Elberton (6 and 5) in the round of 16. She will face Danielle Davis of St. Simons Island in the first quarterfinal match of the Championship division on Friday at 8:32 a.m. Davis notched victories over Brenda Pictor of Marietta (19 holes) in the round of 32 and Lauren Lightfritz of Suwanee (2 and 1) in the round of 16.
The other quarterfinal matches on Friday will include Emma Bell of Braselton/Louise Yu of Duluth; Georgia Golf Hall of Famer Laura Coble of Augusta/Harmanprit Kaur of Lawrenceville; Courtney Lowery of Greenville/Anna Buchanan of Athens.
The quarterfinals will take place Friday morning for the Tournament division as well. Taylor Sarratt of Statesboro will take on Najae Butler of Atlanta at 8:00 a.m. Morgan Collins of Bremen will face Leslie Elkins of Roswell at 8:08 a.m. The 8:16 a.m. match will feature Teagan Fritts of Newnan and Jill Rhodes of Sandy Springs. The final morning match of the Tournament division will see Kay Yun of Johns Creek and Gracie Henderson of Norcross compete at 8:24 a.m.

divisions - Championship and Senior Women's
Championship (for those age 50 and older as of the
first day of the competition)
Maximum field size of 84 players - low 42 players
chosen by handicap index for Women's Match Play
Championship qualifying and 42 players for the
Senior Women's Match Play Championship
qualifying;
if
a division doesn't fill, more players may be added to
the other division for stroke play qualifying and
additional match play flights
36 holes of stroke play qualifying followed by match
play for the low 32 players; the low 16 qualifying
scores will comprise the Championship Flight; the
remaining 16 players that make the cut will be
seeded
into a Tournament Flight based on qualifying scores.
