SPARTANBURG, SC (May 26, 2016) - Zachary Herold & Bryce Miley captured Medalist honors after a one hole playoff in the stroke play portion of the SCGA Four Ball Championship being held at The Country Club of Spartanburg. The teams of Herold/ Miley, Branyon /Milner, and Todd/Truesdale each finished with a two day total of 16 under par 128.

There was a playoff at 137 to make the Match Play part of the Championship. The team of Taylor Ingle and Chris Mitchell advanced after a birdie on the second hole and Briar Herd and Hunter Parks moved on after making birdie on the fourth playoff hole.

Sixty teams started the event vying for the 32 spots that qualify for the Match Play portion. Defending Champions, Phillip Oweida and Anthony Gabriel were unable to participate this year.

The Match Play portion of the event will begin on Friday at 8.00 a.m. on #1 and #10 tees.

DAY ONE QUALIFYING RECAP

After the first round of the SCGA Four Ball Championship, the team of Josh Branyon and Kyle Milner hold a one shot lead after a mesmerizing first round of twelve under par 60. The duo teamed up for ten birdies and an eagle in their march around the Country Club of Spartanburg.

Close on the heels of the leaders, with their own spectacular round of eleven under par 61, are Spartanburg Methodist College golfers Zachary Herald and Bryce Miley. Forrest Fowler and Blake Williamson, along with the brother team of Robert and David Dargan are tied for third at 63.
