Mark Gardiner up four looking for third straight Missouri Senior title

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Mark Gardiner of Mascoutah, Ill. is four strokes ahead looking to three-peat at the Missouri Senior Amateur. Playing Hickory Hills Country Club, Gardiner fired three-under 69 to be four clear of two players at 73, Tom Barry and Scott Edwards.
Gardiner, who won by four in 2014 and in a playoff in 2013, was 4-under on his round through 12 after a eagle at the par-5. He bogeyed 14 to drop to minus-3, but will enjoy a comfortable lead on Tuesday looking for his third in a row.
Robert Trittler and Steve Groom are tied for fourth place at 3-over 75.
In the Super Senior division, Donald Dupske and his first-round 77 lead by two over Frank Jacobs.
